The offer of technological products for women is increasing. For this article I have two kind of digital products that help women. First a digital tampon announced that you can attach to your iPhone. Menstruation is one of the most natural things in the world, a reminder that at the end of the day we’re all just walking, talking mammals. So what happens when you combine an intrinsic bodily function with cutting edge technology? Look no further than Looncup, ‘the world’s first smart menstrual cup’.

The Looncup is like a menstruation cup from the future. Fitted with a battery, sensor and antenna, it uses Bluetooth technology to send real-time information about your period to your iPhone or Apple Watch. Usually when women talk about syncing in the context of their periods, it’s about getting it at the same time as housemates, friends or colleagues, but after downloading the app and inserting the cup, the two are automatically paired. Push notifications tell you how full the cup is and alarms indicate when it’s time for a refresh (the cup lasts for up to 12 hours). In what is the most personal of personal services, Looncup also provides information about what colour the fluid is, which can point to greater health issues or even simple stuff like whether you’re getting enough sleep, and it keeps track of your menstruation cycle and patterns.

Second there is an intelligent Kegeltracker that helps you to develop the muscles in the pelvic floor and strong to keep. The small device, which looks a bit like a huge magic bean, is meant to be in your vagina to stop, after which the you in realtime feedback while performing what is known as kegel exercises, keeping your pelvic floor muscles tensing and releases ever. The combination of the device and app called Elvie, and the makers describe it as ' the video game you play with your vagina '.

Cone Science: a woman's pelvic floor muscles control the flow of urine and the contraction-and release during orgasm, but can be damaged by, for example, pregnancy and certain sports (think riding). Also, the muscles weaken by old age. In the worst case lead to incontinence or subsidence. Kegel exercises can help to prevent this from happening, while going through regular Kegel exercises also seems to enjoy sex more. The realtime data give you insight in the strength, endurance and control the muscles. Elvie is made to "anywhere and at any time" to use, because the device small and discreet. In addition, the top box in which you can keep Reggie also acts as a charger. Source: The Creators Project Source: The Creators Project
